Students can classify foods and beverages by food groups using Canada's Food Guide and get familiar with the Canada's Food Guide plate. Students will understand the concept of macronutrients and micronutrients and their functions and identify the major nutrients in different food groups. Lastly, students will understand that different foods and beverages provide various nutrients in different amounts and recognize the importance of a variety of foods.
